About Flaunden

"Flaunden.... is still that sort of village where your breathing becomes instinctively
deeper and your senses that much sharper"

R G WHITFIELD

The Hertfordshire village of Flaunden is set on the southern border of the county close to the border with Buckinghamshire and on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, 460 feet above sea level and 5 miles east of Chesham. It sits high on a gentle slope looking down towards the valley of the River Chess. The village lies within a conservation area and its residents (numbering 279 “eligible” persons in a recent electoral role) are justifiably proud of its attractive mixture of old and new buildings and the beautiful surrounding countryside.Picture of Rape seed field
